Sir Brandon's Story.

Rt Hon Sir Brandon Lewis CBE is a former Lord Chancellor, Secretary of State & British MP with a distinguished career in public service, including key roles in Government and a focus on Northern Ireland's post-Brexit relations. A proven leader and dedicated community advocate, his legacy continues to be clear in UK politics today.

Sir Brandon was born on June 20, 1971, in Harold Wood, Essex. He was educated at Forest School, Walthamstow, before going on to earn a BSc degree in Economics and then an LLB in Law at the University of Buckingham. He later completed an Masters in Law at King’s College London, showcasing a strong foundation in both law and business. Early in his career, Brandon was actively involved in local government, serving as a Conservative councillor and Leader of Brentwood Borough Council, where he focused on improving community services and governance.

public service.

In 2010, Sir Brandon was elected as the Conservative MP for Great Yarmouth. Over the years, he held several key positions within the UK Government, serving 10 years in Government with most of the in Cabinet positions. His notable roles included Minister for Local Government, Minister of State for Security as well as Minister of State for Immigration, and Chair of the Conservative Party. During his time as Secretary of State for Northern Ireland (2020-2022), he played a vital role in negotiating complex Brexit-related issues involving Northern Ireland, demonstrating his diplomatic and leadership skills. His final role in the UK Cabinet was as Lord Chancellor & Secretary of State for Justice.
His contributions were widely recognised, and he was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2019 for political and public service and in 2023 was awarded a Knighthood by the King.

Sir Brandon’s political legacy is marked by his commitment to public service, particularly in balancing local and national interests. His work in Northern Ireland during a crucial period for the UK's post-Brexit relations has been lauded as a pivotal contribution to British politics.

After stepping down from Parliament in 2024, Sir Brandon has remained active in both political and business circles. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys outdoor pursuits, including cycling and running, and is a dedicated family man.
